Vein & Vascular Treatments

Spider veins, medically known as telangiectasias, are clusters of tiny red or blue vessels that form near the surface of the skin. Although spider veins are typically non-dangerous and generally harmless, many people find them unsightly and choose to have them removed. Fortunately, there are now two safe and effective treatments available for reducing the appearance of spider veins: laser treatment and sclerotherapy.

Laser Vein Treatment with IPL

IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is a type of laser used in vein treatment procedures. It works by delivering high intensity light pulses to the targeted area, which causes the blood in the veins to coagulate and eventually be reabsorbed by the body. IPL is considered a safe and effective method for treating spider veins, varicose veins, and other types of vascular lesions. Unlike traditional laser treatments, IPL can target a wider range of wavelengths, making it suitable for treating different skin types and colors. Additionally, IPL treatments are typically quick and require little to no downtime.

Sclerotherapy is another effective treatment for eliminating the appearance of spider veins. During a sclerotherapy session, a saline solution or other special medicine is injected into the affected veins using a very small needle. This causes the veins to collapse and disappear, reducing their visibility over time. Depending on the size and number of veins, sclerotherapy sessions may take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour.
